Guest Tutor Spotlight; Małgorzata Szpila

I met Malgorzata (Gosia) about two years ago when I had my shop on High Street, not long after she'd moved to Swansea. I was instantly taken with her incredible work, as I am sure you all will be too. Gosia is highly skilled in bobbin lace, having learned the craft from her mother and Grandmother in Poland, who learned from the generations before them. Traditionally bobbin lace is done in cream or white cotton or linen threads but Gosia brings it up to date with multi-coloured and metallic threads and the use of beads to make beautiful accessories and accents for clothing which have been shown in exhibitions all over the world. She currently specalises in making bespoke bridal pieces for her new company Handmade Lace Design, take a look here and here, and has agreed to join Sew Swansea for a one day workshop to share her amazing talent with you.

Gosia will be running a Bobbin Lace Bracelet workshop at my studio on Saturday 9th February 2019. Places are very limited so don't delay securing your place.

The workshop will run from 11am 'til 4pm with an hour break for lunch. Gosia is very generously supplying all the materials and equipment you will need to produce your own bobbin lace bracelet to take home, so all you need to bring is lunch. The day costs £55 per person for a maximum of 6 participants. Please note that there is a minimum of 3 people needed to run this class.
